Born & raised in Providence NC, Jonathan is no stranger to the local area and the community that surrounds it. Jonathan has always loved making friends and having conversation with people in the area about the arts. Jonathan graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor degree in Education and Interdisciplinary Studies. He has been working since the age of 15 and has been in several areas of employment. He always knew that creativity and ministry played a big role in who he is and that he wanted to work in those areas. Jonathan currently serves as the Youth Director for Hope Church in Danville, and loves freelancing to create music, photography, graphics and anything that requires design. Jonathan joined the Rivertown team because he is encouraged by what they do in the community, and wanted to be a part of something creative and beneficial to the local area. In his spare time Jonathan likes to work on music projects, take pictures, and grab coffee with anybody who needs caffeine in their system.
Caleb Cassell is the senior project manager & a staff writer for Rivertown. Born in Danville, VA & raised in Blanch, NC, from a very young age, he has always had a very outgoing personality & has no difficulty making friends in the Dan River Region. Caleb’s very first job was at GTC Danville Cinemas where he worked for a year and developed many relationships with people in the community. After graduating from Bartlett Yancey High School in 2011, he briefly moved away to live with his aunt and uncle in Chapel Hill, NC. During that time, he attended Alamance Community College.
Caleb has joined the Rivertown team with the hopes to grow the relationships he has made in the community & developing new ones. Always having a heart for others, he wants to see all needs met in this community. Books & Barbers was just the beginning of the impact he has began to make & he is eager to make more. When he is not writing or talking sports, you can find Caleb playing video games in his man cave, enjoying craft beer with his guys or spending time with his wife in their quiet country cabin. Look for the Carolina Hurricanes hat and always remember “Go Cubs Go!”
